Praying with Children

Before the Rev Maureen Collins was ordained, she worked as the Diocesan ‘Church and schools link officer’, encouraging & helping churches to work with their local schools in order to help children grow in awareness of their spirituality and the Christian faith. She is also married and has three children of her own. In this video Maureen shares lots of great ideas for helping children grow as pray-ers.

Maureen recommends the

Flame: Creative Children’s Ministry

and

Creative Prayer Ideas

websites as a great resource for children’s ministry.

This is Joel. He is four years old and he is going to demonstrate saying the Lord’s Prayer with actions.

“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those
who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours
now and for ever. Amen.”

Prayer Spaces in Schools

What is Prayer Spaces in Schools?

Children and young people are innately curious about life. Growing up raises lots of questions. Many have an interest in the non-material aspects of life, the spirit or soul, and want to explore how these ideas and experiences help them to develop their own sense of identity, self-worth, personal insight, meaning and purpose.

Prayer Spaces in Schools enable children and young people, of all faiths and none, to explore these life questions, spirituality and faith in a safe, creative and interactive way.

Prayer Spaces in Schools is a project of 24-7 Prayer.
