The Summer term for the Nottingham School of Christian Prayer will begin in April 2012. The prayer course will be led by Jonathan Walker (the creator of the course) and will take place in Beeston, Nottingham.  You can sign up for either the Tuesday morning or Wednesday afternoon course. The prayer course is called Prayer Eleven for Explorers and is open to all adult Christians of any denomination. Course content

The first three lessons are focussed on our relationship with God

Lesson 1	The place of attention and listening in prayer
Lesson 2	The place of praise and thanksgiving in prayer
Lesson 3	The place of repentance and godliness in prayer

The second three lessons are based on the three sections of the Lectio Divina

Lesson 4	The place of scripture and icons in prayer
Lesson 5	The place of meditation in prayer
Lesson 6	The place of contemplation in prayer

The next four lessons are preparation for ministering to others in prayer

Lesson 7	The place of suffering and fasting in prayer
Lesson 8	The place of intercession in prayer – praying in faith
Lesson 9	The place of intercession in prayer – praying out of compassion
Lesson 10	The place of intercession in prayer – praying with grace

The final lesson opens up the ultimate goal of prayer

Commitment

This is a very practical course and so there will be a lot of praying done in the class, but each student will also commit themselves to spend 15 minutes each day doing a prayer exercise set for each week. They will also have several chapters of the course book to read each week.

Course cost

The full cost of the course: £60* per person.

The cost for OAPs, full time students (18+), and the unemployed: £30* per person.

*There will be a further £5 reduction if you provide your own course book.
