I’ve been to a few Julian Meetings. These are groups which get together all around the UK to encourage each other in their practice of contemplative prayer.

Northumbria Community

The Northumbria Community is a dispersed group of people who are drawing from, and living in the spiritual discipline of monasticism. They live by their Rule of Life of Availability and Vulnerability. The Nether Springs is the ‘mother house’ and administrative centre of the community. It is also a training school for Christian spirituality.

Simeon Centre

The Simeon Centre for Prayer and the Spiritual Life is based at Ridley Hall theological college in Cambridge. Its aim is to help people grow in their desire and capacity to pray through offering a variety of retreats and conferences.

The Lydia Group

The Lydia Group aims to help Christians grow through spiritual formation and retreats.

The Third Order of St Francis is open to anyone, lay or ordained, married or single, male or female, who wish to live their lives in the spiritual footsteps of Francis of Assisi.

The Fellowship of Meditation exists to provide an opportunity for men and women of any Christian denomination to learn and practise a Christian form of Contemplative Meditation. Groups meet throughout the UK.

The World Prayer Centre has been set up to encourage people to pray God’s Kingdom to come in this world. It is a member of the Evangelical Alliance.

Founded by Mike Bickle in 1999. In the International House of Prayer, prayer and worship continues 24/7, and their prayer room can be viewed on line throughout the day.

Located in the heart of Oxford, the Oxford Prayer Room is available for people to go and pray in or attend organised prayer events.

The Kent Prayer Partnership is a team of 13 prayer co-ordinators from each district of Kent who have a burden for the county and organise prayer events.

The Missionaries of Prayer are an interdenominational network of Christians who are committed to promoting prayer, and teaching others to pray.

This is a United Reformed church web site which has a variety of ideas for doing prayer.
