Welcome

Welcome to the Prayer Eleven web site. The aim of the site is to promote Prayer and Christian Spirituality. I have created two courses on prayer so far:

Prayer Eleven for Seekers – an eleven part course for individuals (or maybe small groups) to do as and when it suits them. (Free to download)

Prayer Eleven for Explorers – an eleven week course that is intended to be done in a class format. This course is ideal for church leaders who are looking for a more effective way to develop the prayer lives of their congregations. (Free to download)

I am in the process of writing a new course – Prayer Eleven for Housegroups - but this will probably not be available before the start of 2011.

About me

Jonathan Walker

I am a Reader in the Anglican church (based at St Mary’s, Wollaton Park, Nottingham) and I have created these courses as part of my teaching ministry. I would describe myself as an Open Evangelical: evangelical in my understanding of the authority of Scripture (and it is also the Anglican tradition to which I belong); open in that I believe there is much that is helpful for spiritual growth in other Christian traditions. See The Vision page to find out more about this project, or get in Contact.

News Item

Watch out for a new documentary programme  called “Silence in the City” (was going to be called “The Big Silence”). Filmed at Worth Abbey, three women and two men do a silent retreat. This will be aired on BBC2 some time soon.
